Property Description
The Fulton Cotton Mill is a complex of nine historic industrial buildings located 1 mile east of the central business district of downtown Atlanta. There is a total gross floor area of 550,000 sq. ft. on a 12.5 acre site. The buildings were built over a forty year period beginning in 1881 and the Mill operated continuously until 1977. At its peak, the Mill employed 2,600 workers, housing many of them in an adjacent company-owned village known as Cabbagetown. The Mill and village (previously sold to the residents) have been added to the National Register of Historic Places.
