New Condos from San Diego Apartments
While many people feel that they cannot afford
With all of the new condos being built from apartment conversions, many people feel, for the first time in a number of years, that they have the opportunity to acquire affordable housing, and three-quarters of all the people who buy conversion units are former renters. This does not meant that buyers and conversions are hurting the housing stock; all they are simply doing is changing folks from renters to owners.
Since the popularity of new condos conversions has taken affect, many people are finding that these buyers have been renting for over 15 years, are over 30 years old, and are admitting to being first time home buyers. New condos have been popping up all over
The process of converting apartments into new condos is popular for several reasons. First, the process is simple and easier than building new buildings. The building codes are the same for both apartments and condos; so long as the codes are approved for apartments, they are approved for condos as well. Most of the time, the conversions include cosmetic things like carpeting or appliances. If they get into any constructions, the process will take longer with certain approvals and what not.
The neighborhoods around the condo conversions also benefit from these new condos. The turnover rate increases at least 60 percent a year causing the value in the area go up. In addition, the neighborhood looks and feels cleaner and more appealing. Most conversions are in smaller complexes, with 25 units or less. Sometimes, if there is a high demand the conversions might become add-ons.
