Chicago Condos for Sale by Neighborhood

In the marketplace of Chicago condos, there is something for every individual, couple or family. This is truly one of the most diverse real estate markets in the country, and the condo has become the most widespread form of housing to choose from. There are Chicago condos for sale in the charming older neighborhoods that blend right in with the historic architecture. There are also Chicago condominiums and townhouses in newly revitalized neighborhoods, that have helped give these neighborhoods a new beginning after years of decline.

Many of the most recently built Chicago condos for sale are located in the North Central area of the city. The charming older neighborhoods of North Central Chicago include Old Town, Wicker Park and Ravenswood. There are a lot of single family homes in these areas, but developers have also started building Chicago condominiums to fit in with the historic buildings that are already there. Some old warehouse buildings from the turn of the century have also been transformed into modern Chicago condos and lofts, with great views of the city.

There are a great number of Chicago condos for sale in the Near South area, particularly in the Hyde Park and Little Village neighborhoods. The Bridgeport neighborhood also features some Chicago condominiums, nestled in between the two and three story single family homes that have been there for decades. Some open land is still available in these neighborhoods, as well, some of which is being developed for new Chicago condos. Many people choose to buy condos in these early stages, because they are usually at reduced prices in preconstruction, and buyers have more input into the features and layout of the home.

The South area has more single family homes and duplexes, but buyers can still find some pleasant Chicago condos for sale in smaller buildings throughout these neighborhoods. Hamilton Park, Marquette Park and Calumet Heights are the main South Chicago neighborhoods. The North West Chicago condominiums in Portage Park are surrounded by attractive two story older brick houses, whereas in Austin buyers can find a lot of townhouses. There are more Chicago condos being built in Old Norwood, though, surrounded by older English style buildings.

The market for Chicago condos is extremely diverse, and there are so many unique neighborhoods that any buyer can find the type of housing they desire. The revitalized neighborhoods are particularly abundant with Chicago condos for sale, since developers have really taken advantage of the need for new real estate here. Chicago condominiums can be found throughout the family neighborhoods, singles neighborhoods, older communities and higher-income housing areas.

Whatever lifestyle a buyer prefers, they can find something to fit the bill in Chicago condos for sale.
