Flamingo Lakes is located in a virtually undiscovered part of the Yucatan peninsula just a couple of miles inland from the Emerald Coast and half an hour from the beautiful colonial city of Merida in SE Mexico. Flamingo Lakes is also situated just a short distance from the small town of Dzemul, a typical Mexican settlement with a few local shops, businesses, cantinas and a town square. To the north of the Resort, beyond the shallow salt lakes, home to thousands of flamingo in season, mile upon mile of virgin white sandy beaches stretch into the warm emerald waters of the Gulf.

The Resort covers some 2200 acres. Additionally 840 acres have been set aside for a private Nature Reserve. This locale is ideal for walks, bird watching, cycling, horse riding and just quiet enjoyment. Other beautiful features to partake in are the ancient ruins which are present on the site as well as a cenote (freshwater sinkholes typical of the region); restoration works are planned for both. Xcambo ruins are within walking distance.

Flamingo Lakes will be a self-contained community, the size of a small town but with the feeling of a village. The villas and condominiums will be constructed around the 27 holes of golf (an 18 hole Championship course in excess of 7000 yards and a 9 hole Executive course), its own five star-rated Guest Lodge, as well as other leisure and recreational facilities which include a supermarket, medical clinic, dentist, optician, banking, salon, commerical center, etc. Additionally, the Resort offers a comprehensive range of sporting and leisure facilities including tennis, a health, fitness and spa complex and restaurant, bar and shopping amenities. All facilities will be for the exclusive use of members, however, guests introduced by members and Lodge patrons may be permitted to use the facilities on a daily fee basis.

The Lol-Ha design offers the most spacious accommodation in the whole Flamingo Lakes portfolio with over 4,000 square feet of internal living area with some additional 1,000 square foot of covered terraces, outside living space and a swimming pool. Arranged on one floor, the Lol-Ha offers luxurious family living whether the option is for five en-suite rooms or for the other possibility for a large study and four bedrooms. The very extensive family living area is arranged as flexible open plan space offering exciting possibilities for daily living or entertaining.
