There may be some outdated stereotypes that Orlando condominiums are strictly for retired people and upscale buyers, but this couldn't be further from the truth. One of the latest trends in Orlando condos is the condo conversion, which is an apartment building that is renovated and then sold as individual condominiums. These are often very affordable, and they do not require new construction. Orlando condominiums are also often built in close proximity to schools and business centers, which attracts parents and professionals. Families are often attracted to Orlando condominiums with playgrounds, walking paths, Internet cafes and community centers. Young professionals might like the Orlando condos on the market with convenient amenities like built-in grocery centers and dry cleaning facilities. This is obviously a different type of buyer than the stereotypical rich or retired condo buyer, although there is obviously a market for those types of buyers as well.

Upscale Orlando condominiums often include the most extravagant amenities in the most  relaxing and beautiful locations, and there are people that are willing to pay the price. A 4,800 square foot condo was sold for $4.65 million dollars in Florida last year, for example. Many of these luxury Orlando condos may include quality furnishings, such as state-of-the-art appliances, granite countertops and window treatments. Many luxury condo buyers like the fact that the properties are secure, because their property will be protected in this type of environment and they don't have to pay the cost of additional security.

There are many reasons why people prefer Orlando condominiums over detached homes. A lot of people enjoy the feeling of living in a community, and most find themselves feeling safer and more involved than they would be in a single-family home. Condo developments generally charge a monthly fee, known as a homeowners' association fee, to take care of the outdoor maintenance, security of the building and upkeep of the common areas. This allows the owners to enjoy all the benefits of living in Orlando condos and the recreational opportunities of the city in general.
