If you are planning to make some condo investment in the current buyers market and happen to prefer old fashioned environs over the posh and chic downtown neighborhoods, then Old Town, Chicago condos can be the best option for you. Situated 1.5 miles north of the Loop, this popular locality owes its name to the Great Chicago fire that devastated a large part of the city, saving this stretch. Minutes from the city's business district, Old Town is bordered by such neighborhoods as Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, Old Town Triangle, and Cabrini Green.

At present, Old Town enjoys the distinction of being the only part of the city that retained most of its original appearance. At the same time there are pockets that do not differ much from other neighborhoods such as Gold Coast or Lincoln Park in their look and feel. This is the modern face of the locality; here you can find several mid rise Chicago condos co-existing along side the protected landmark buildings.
