Anyone who has recently visited Reno, Nevada has probably seen the renaissance of building development in the downtown area, especially with the new Reno condos for sales. The area has been ripe for a design overhaul for quite some time, and developers have wisely begun turning old, outdated casinos into condominiums.

The Reno condos for sale are still very reasonably priced, but with the onslaught of new building in the area it's surely only a matter of time before buyers catch on. The great outdoor area neighboring the city of Reno is one of the most attractive locations in the country, making Reno new condos more appealing purchases. The Sierra Nevada Mountains and beautiful, blue Lake Tahoe are only a hop, skip and a jump away. The casinos and buildings of Reno, however, have long been in need of some refurbishment. It's only fitting that the beautiful landscape in the area should be complimented by good-looking Reno condominiums.

The old structures remaining in Reno look more like the Las Vegas of bygone days of the ‘50s and ‘60s, when Frank Sinatra and the rat pack roamed the casinos. Though many of the casinos in the area have been forced to close, the space has given way to attractive new condos with all the amenities you would expect from a modern city. Building planners have the obstacle of a heavy rail system running through the middle of downtown and a lot of older streets, but the new Reno condominiums and condo conversions have worked in quite nicely. One of the latest groups of condominiums developers, from the bay area, has torn down the old Kings Inn Casino and made way for a multipurpose condominiums complex of 99 units.

The conversion of old casinos into new condos is the latest building trend in Reno, and it's paying off. The Comstock Casino was also converted into condominiums, and has had success selling the new condos for sale. The city of Reno has other downtown renovations on its plate aside from the new condos for sale, with federal transportation money being allocated to cover the downtown train trench and make walking areas and outdoor space.

With the pedestrian-friendly streets, Reno condos are only more attractive to buyers who want to live a city-connected lifestyle. These new condos and other projects are really turning Reno's downtown around. Downtown Reno is not far from becoming an impressive competitor to Las Vegas. With the renovations and new condos, downtown Reno is already more walker friendly than the Strip on Las Vegas Boulevard. It has a connected grid street pattern and convenient city blocks.
