New Jersey Condos Part of a New Schooling Trend
New trends are emerging with New Jersey condos for sale, and they don't have anything to do with interior design or architecture. The new trend in New Jersey condos, that may begin to pop up in other American cities, is the built-in school. New Jersey condos for sale in cities such as Hoboken and Jersey City have become much more family-friendly, which is becoming apparent. Hoboken and Jersey City used to be more well known for college students and young people, but it has become more of a haven for families and young professionals. And that means that New Jersey condos for sale have to appeal to people with young children. Single people from New York City often marry, have kids and decide to purchase New Jersey condos in cities like Montclair, Summit or Chatham where the schools are good. But with so many young kids in one condominium complex, why not put a school right in the complex? Developers don't see any reason why it shouldn't be so.
There are already several New Jersey condos for sale in buildings with schools right in the complex. The Beacon, a condominium complex set for completion in the spring of 2007 in Jersey City, also has plans for a school on the property. Negotiations are under way with the 75-year-old Little Harbor Academy, a Roman Catholic-sponsored school, currently at a site on Marin Boulevard. The school already offers pre-kindergarten through eighth grade education to children of any religion. The Beacon will offer 1,200 condominiums and rental units, as well as a supermarket, shopping plaza, restaurants, fitness center, stage and film theaters, and other amenities. The school will be designed with room to grow for new condominium residents. George Filopoulos, president of the Manhattan-based Metrovest Equities, said that schools might become a necessity in New Jersey condos for sale in the future. “As a developer, you can put in your best finishes, add more and more amenities, offer better views, lovely architecture,” Filopoulos said. “But at the end of the day, you won't be successful unless you provide the essential services that people find most important.” Apparently, people in the market for New Jersey condos for sale find schools to be one of the most important services that condominium developers can offer.
This is part of an emerging trend of condominium complexes that are more like completely enclosed communities. With shopping centers, entertainment, schools and other services right within the condominiums building, there's no reason for condominium owners to leave home. New Jersey condos for sale are an emerging option for families that seek this kind of lifestyle.
