Condominiums In Williamsbridge New York

Situated on the eastern part of New York is Williamsbridge. Streets at Williamsbridge include Boston Post Road, Adee Avenue and at the Bronx River. Areas surrounding Williamsbridge are Morris Park and Norwood as well as towns like Allenton Avenue and Olinville make up this town. name Williamsbridge was derived from a farmer John Williams who owned a toll bridge across the Bronx River.

The town of Williamsbridge started out as an area with Jewish and Italian-American residence. By the 1970s, African Americans were calling the area home and so too were a barrage of Caribbean immigrants. Allerton Avenue also had a handful of Jews and Italians, most of the Italians who settled in the area before the war. The once predominant Italian town soon turned into a West Indian area in the 1980s.

Today, the Italian-Americans make up a small percent of tenants in the area as they share their living spaces with Albanian-Americans, Asians and members of other ethnic groups.Olinville is considered the working-class community and it is located close to Boston Road and Laconia Avenue. This area is flooded with immigrants from Korea and Jamaica. It was once known as the place where immigrants from Europe, Poland and Ireland had settled.

The real estate industry in Williamsbridge is indeed booming. A small family can find a one or two bedroom cottage styled house and New York condos that is priced to suit their pockets. Areas such as White Plains Road captures a community with tree framed streets. Elsewhere in Williamsbridge there are several housing complexes that are well developed and at a great price.

Currently Eastchester Heights is one of these complexes, which houses over 1,400 units on a huge land plot. This complex which takes on a garden-styled touch was built in 1934 from the blueprint of architect Clarence Stein. The community is near to several department stores, restaurants and grocery stores. The Bronx Zoo and Botanical Gardens are also not too far away.
