The capt. John smith house built ca. 1790 was "an elegant mansion for its day" according to the vt dept. Of historic preservation. This beautiful center hall colonial has had a lot of recent work. There is a standing seam roof, new siding + windows, and a lot of interior renovation. The fabulous new screened porch on the back of the house overlooks one of the most beautiful landscaped yards in this area!
